First of all I need to say that we are WAY behind on our blogging, whoops!
We have been quite busy with lots of other things lately so the blog has definitely been neglected. However, there are many things that we want to show and this wedding is one of them! I would like to say that we had such a great time with this bride and groom and their families. The wedding was outside at the beautiful Belgium House in Longview Texas, and the weather was gorgeous. Take a look at this couples special day.

Guess what we are making….
I LOVE doing anything crafty, artsy, bakey (I know its not a word, just go with it) with anyone willing to do it with me, and THANKFULLY I have a precious son who is willing…most of the time. Today, we decided on rice krispie treats. Ok, actually my pantry decided on rice krispie treats because cereal and marshmallows were actually in there. Multiple times we worked on pronouncing rice…krispie….treat and we continued to get, rice…christmas…tree, so rice christmas trees it is! We gathered together our ingredients and while the little princess slept, the prince and I began our work.

I have to get creative sometimes to keep the little guys attention, so first thing was first…..a marshmallow castle. Stacking marshmallows was much harder than it looks, but we made it work. We even adorned it with a ‘flag’ or a dum dum which was all I could find.

Step two was playing, throw the marshmallows into the pot, which ended in a couple of casualties. In case you were wondering, no these did NOT get used in final product. I think my son was a little surprised that I was telling him to throw food. :)

While the marshmallows melted Jackson decorated some with icing. Somehow, no matter what we are baking, he ends up using icing to decorate with.

I know one day this little guy isn’t going to need this chair anymore to help me in the kitchen. He is going to be all grown up, but for now I am going to love this sweet moment. :)
Stir…stir…stir
Look Mom!
And, after all the hard work, how did he like the treats? Well………..not so much. In fact, I had to bribe him just to hold one. Oh well….more for mommy!

Meet Mr. Giraffe. He is my little creation I dreamed up while playing in photoshop. Yes, photoshop is great for playing with actual pictures, but what about creating some cute art? Oh, yes sir-eeee! If you would like to walk through the steps to create your own one-of-a-kind cartoon friend then keep reading. It is a fun creative art project for those of us incapable of drawing or painting with ‘real’ paints and pencils. :) Hope you enjoy this tutorial!

Step: 1- I took the paint brush tool and simply drew my guy. Now, I am no artist, but because photoshop is so forgiving anyone can create a cute cartoon friend. If you mess up that is what the amazing eraser tool is for!
Step 2: As you can see he needed a bright fun background so using the ‘fill’ tool which looks like the little paint bucket, I decided on a bright red, clicked and voila….instant color. Now, to add a little texture to it, I then went in and placed a texture over the entire thing and again with my eraser tool, erased the texture from the giraffe, so all that remained was some texture over my red background. Side Note: Not sure why it is showing up orange on here, but it is still the bright red.

Step 3: I decided I wanted to give him a little texture, so I found a cute green polka dot paper and once I placed it over my giraffe, I simply erased all of the areas except for the ones I wanted to be green polka dotted. Easy peasy!
Step 4: And finally, I picked another color that I thought would work well with my chosen color palette and, once again, used the paint bucket to fill in his spots, head, etc.

So, there you have it….
Just to spotlight him even more I placed him here in this template at different sizes to show off his cuteness. And, why stop with one little guy when there are SO many that you can play with!

Enjoy your creativity today, and if you liked this little photoshop project please ‘Like’ it at the top of this post. Thanks so much!!!

What a wonderful Valentines Day this year! Jonathan and I dressed Gracie up in the sweetest little tutu that my sister made for her and headed to the park for Gracie’s first Valentines Day! We had a picnic, we played, and of course, took pictures! It was a beautiful windy day that was full of laughter and love and my two favorite people. Perfect.
